Ever Leave Your Phone Somewhere?

We never intend to leave our phones behind, but how likely are you to get it returned if it is dropped or left somewhere?  If you keep it locked with a fingerprint clock or passcode, whomever finds it can't open it to find contact information.

Thankfully, the Android system allows you to add contact information to the locked screen so someone who finds your phone can have your contact information without breaking into your phone.

To set this up:

  1. Tap on "Settings"
  2. Tap on "Lock Screen"
  3. Tap on "Show Information"
  4. Make sure "Show Information" is set to "ON"
  5. Tap on "Owner Information"
  6. Tap on "Show owner info on lock screen."
  7. Enter your name, email address, alternate phone number, etc.
  8. Tap "OK"
The above is a screenshot of my locked screen.  If someone finds my phone, they know how to get a hold of me.
